Video Games

I don't think that video games are a waste of time. Today there are many educational video games that parents and teachers can use to their advantage. I think there are times where individuals play video games too much, which can lead to it being a waste of time. But I also believe that many people do not spend their whole afternoon playing games. Incorperating educational video games is a good way to reach out to students/children.

creating a podcast

I enjoyed making the podcast! I can see how students will love making them as well. It is a creative and new (atleast for me!) way of sharing information you know. The only advice I would give to other newbie poscasters is to have someone near you when you are trying to upload it to itunes! For my group and I that was the hardest part. Everything else just requires you to speak clear and be creative. : )

podcasting

For my future classroom I think I will try podcasting. After reading about it I learned that their are several advantages. For example, children can publish their work for the world to see. Also, they can become very motivated when other people outside and inside the classroom writes to them about their work. I think it also depends how old my students are. I am not sure I would want to start children with podcasting in K or the beginning of 1st grade. : )

WIKI!!!!!!!!

After leaning about wiki's in class I see many advantages of them in my future classroom. For instance, it can bridge the gap between home and school by creating a wiki for teachers and parents to communicate to each other. Also, students can update the classroom wiki on a daily basis by adding what they did in school, homework for the night, and so on. There can even be a homework wiki where students can help each other with homework. If used on a regular basis wiki's can enhance learning and communication. : )
